Why do kitchens get remodeled?
Besides clients getting new appliances, there are 3 main reasons why people remodel their kitchen.
#3 Their existing kitchen has "custom" built cabinets. Local cabinet shops simply can not match the superior, and longer lasting finishes.
#2 The kitchen had been remodeled 5-10 years ago with inexpensive "stock" cabinets usually purchased at the big box store or lumber yard.
#1 The kitchen has the "builder grade" cabinets. A large number of homebuilders are notorious for building homes (even custom homes) and using lower grade cabinets.
