I want a new kitchen, where do I start?

There are may responses to this question. Experts say, look at magazine pictures, visit showrooms or look online. You can do these things, but I say, think of your investment level first! You can look at beautiful magazine pictures for ideas, but if you are not able to afford some of those kitchens what good is it anyways?
